Don't Waste Your Time. This is Juvenile.
To say this is bad is to give it the highest printable compliment I can think of. To give it one star suggests it sheds even a dim light. But the only light in these pages may be at the end of the cigarette dangling from the lips of women in the first two photos....and later sticking from the face of a middle aged woman There's not enough substance here to even be the source of a giggle fest for a preadolescent girl. The collection of advice in these pages is reminiscent of advice on how to be`Cosmo Girl' in 1970's Cosmopolitan magazines. And I think even Cosmo's editor, the late, Helen Gurley Brown would cringe at these anachronistic bits of wisdom. We learn the Ideal man can be a bad boy. (...but you always forgive him.) Instead of sulking we should play the role of the perfect woman. To make a man think you have a lover you should cry from time to time with no reason. How's this? `The Parisienne is in love with the idea of love. To a pathological degree. Her entire life revolves over the flutterings of her heart.' There are fashion tips and recipes and places to go and advice about what to do when you have an audience and don't like your naked behind, 'Walk sideways with your back against the wall.' If you think your legs are too short, or thighs too wide, tip toe. Cross arms over your unliked naked breasts and lie on your back in bed. Always wear perfume when you go out. I found nothing here particularly Parisian or interesting or new or enlightening. This book is a waste of your money, your time, your good sense and your healthy self respect. Review based on a Bound Galley not yet for sale.
