It's like I ordered this WOT off of Wish
It was terrible. The first episode dismantles the entire base structure of the story. It rushes downhill after that. They inserted bad plot changes to attempt to rush along the character development. Only five minutes in they created a fake character and it's Perrin's wife?! They make Matrim a sneaky greasy thief and Abel Cauthon, into a drunken adulterer. That not only angered me, it also disgusted me. I was literally ranting at the television throughout the entire first episode. I have so many questions. Where is Moiraine's kesiera? Where is Thom? Why is the women's circle represented like a weird secret cult? Why put Lan and Moiraine into a bath together? None of these actions make sense for the characters. If the screenwriters didn't want to parrot the book they could have kept to the actual feeling and plot without making stupid and somewhat disgusting changes. I was able to stomach many adaptations throughout my 42 years of reading and watching the same story but this one felt like an actual slap to my face. I will not be watching this trash. It feels and looks cheaply made and I fear that it's not even a good enough story that would urge Thom Merrillin to sing even at the dirtiest drunken tavern. What a disgrace. tl:dr version, This adaptation broke my reader's heart.
