Cheap tablet not production ready.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Android tablet, and 2 iPads around the house. I pre-ordered this tablet the day it was announced, and given the price did not have high expectations for it. Just was looking for an inexpensive way to read Safari Online and Kindle books on a small tablet while lying on my couch. I received the tablet on September 30 as promised, and it was packaged in "frustration-free" packaging. Sadly, that is where the joy ended. The moment I booted it up, it would not register any screen taps, and I had to jab at the screen several times to click through to the next screen that appeared after bootup. The tablet then connected to my wifi network and updated its firmware, rebooting a couple of times in the process.
After it came back up, the screen issues remained, and it required more than a dozen hard jabs at the "next" button to advance to the next page. The tablet was already pre-registered to my Kindle account, but it just went into a hung state after several attempts to advance the screen, paused for a couple minutes, then got to the home screen. That is as far as I got. I could not launch any app by poking at the icons. I gave up, held the power button for a few seconds to shut down the device, and initiated a refund with amazon. Dropped it off at the UPS store today to send it back. My other tablets are a joy now and I appreciate how nice they are after going through this experience.
