Sounds great at first glance, but the Instant Pot seems like a poor implementation of a great concept. I've tried about 10 times and I can't get decent rice out of it - apparently despite having a "rice" button, you're not supposed to use that to make rice. I thought perhaps my rice-fu wasn't up to snuff, but my girlfriend has been making rice since childhood, and she can't get decent rice out of it either. Since, the inner pan is not nonstick (unlike most slow cookers), the cleanup is pretty horrific too. There seem to be mechanical issues with my cooker, too: it's started to leak steam around the edges since the second use. I attempted a beef stew with it, but it wasn't cooking as quickly as advertised (see prior issue, perhaps), and I ended up having to finish it in an ordinary slow cooker anyway. Perhaps I got a defective unit, but this hasn't been a confidence-building experience.
