$10 more will make a huge difference.
Have been using these headphones for 2 weeks now and got them from my roommate who bought them after he left his pair at home.
When he gave them to me he complained about them hurting after a while and the sound being of low quality.
I've owned:
- Sennheisser HD 202 Professional Headphones - $23 vs. ~$13 price on these. (09/07/2012)
- Sony MDR-XD100 Stereo Headphones - $20 (price has not changed in 8 years since I bought them)
- Bose® Around-Ear Headphones (Old Version) - $120
The Sony MDR-XD100 I got around 7 years ago and they lasted me through high school and first 2 years of college but then my roommate's cat bit the cord and after failing to fix them, I decided to get a new pair since I payed the same amount as they cost and knew they were not the best out there. After checking for more, I got the Sennheisser HD 202 and was surprised. I was surprised because my roommate lent me his BOSE headphones for a semester and the Sennheisser were almost just as good for 1/4 of the price (I got them @ $34).
I gave those to my best friend because he did not have a pair and I wanted to start using headphones. I am only writing this review because there are headphones out there that will give you much more than these.
GOOD:
- Price.
- If you don't like long chords, this one has a short chord.
- Size.
BAD:
These headphones are by far the most uncomfortable I've owned. They make the top of your head hurt since it has no cushion. All headphones take time getting used to but these make my head hurt every time. After 2-3 hours, the size of your ears will start hurting. The short chord is actually a bad thing for me since I like being able to move around my computer or around my room. The sound is very low compared to the Bose or Sennheisser. Bass is a complete fail.
BOTTOM LINE:
Spend $10 more dollars and get a better pair. Don't be fooled with the reviews, after reading some I have concluded that most reviewers were looking for cheap headphones and have never owned headphones before.
(I listen to Hardstyle, an electronic music genre that has very hard bass and I would recommend the Sennheiser HD 202. Do yourself a favor and avoid these headphones).
