I was impressed with this laundry line out of the box. Installation was easy, and it was a huge improvement over our laundry line strung between two trees. However, after using it twice the main support pole broke near ground level. The proximate cause of the break remains a mystery to me--we didn't have any laundry loading it down at the time. However, after examining the break I was deeply unimpressed with the construction. The central load-bearing pole is made of very thin metal tubing with a 2X2" square piece of wood running its length. Ours broke at a huge knot it the wood, an obvious manufacturing defect and a good indication that the metal pole itself adds almost nothing to the poles structural integrity. Frustratingly, the company has been unresponsive. Their website lists no phone number, and after one initial response via e-mail (send it back to Amazon and deal with them, it said) subsequent e-mails have gone unanswered.
