Don't purchase this item - It is dangerous
I purchased this bivvy sak for my backpacking adventures in New England's White Mountains in case of emergencies. Unfortunately, I had to use it the other night when I ran out of daylight hiking a mountain. I was forced to camp, above treeline, on rock. The temperature got down to low 50s or high 40s with wind chill.
At first I felt warm but overtime this changed. Due to the wind, I tucked my head inside the bivvy sak. Condensation build up caused my gloves, pants, and socks to get wet. I had a waterproof jacket on which saved me from getting totally drenched. I was freezing all night. In addition, not only was the bivvy sak extremely loud in the wind, it also ripped in 5 places (pictures attached). This was my first time using it and the last time. I was extremely disappointed.
I do not recommend this product. I believe it is irresponsible of the manufacturer to call this survival gear.
I tried to get the bivvy sak back into the little bag - almost impossible. The bag is not made of flexible material and makes this task far more difficult than is necessary.
