Had the UV-82HP for about 3 months. Definitely not as powerful [supposed to be 7 watts] as my 5 watt Japan made rig, and it just decided to no longer transmit in ANY mode. I am tired of being a sucker for these cheap radios ! I am going to search for a good name brand HT and stop expecting these Chinese crap shoot rigs to be all that they are cracked up to be. As others have already stated. you get what you pay for !
