These typically have wide feet and NB was their home. In the last few years the quality has deteriorated, shoddy designs with the tongue not being covered when you wear it, too short laces, and soulless padding of the soles. In some models what used to comfortable 2E's are no more. They are probably narrow. The 4E's are more like the "D" in other brands. So what's to be done. Thanks to Amazon's blazingly fast return models, all I have to do is to drop it off at a UPS store and get a receipt. Within hours my account gets credited and I have already ordered the next great "hope." I had returned three different models the last time, and two other brands (for the first time in a long time I am looking for alternate brands.) Maybe the next pair coming on Wednesday might be the one that fits. I am hopeful but not sure. I hope New Balance solves whatever problems they have or make a public announcement they are abandoning they former customer base and are now hankering after the mainstream. If they are, they will be clobbered by Nike and others.
