As a J.R.R. Tolkien fan, I have to say, read my review, I can't explain the pain, in just a headline
Amazon’s, “The Rings of Power” disappoints and fails on so many levels that perhaps the best way to describe it is through an analogy. Imagine if someone had bought the rights to The Bible (I know it's free, but hear me out) and they were going to spare no expense to bring it life on TV. People would be super excited to see it. The company would think it has a sure thing, as The Bible has a huge following, so the company would think, this thing! It’s going to be a hit! Then, as the season unfolds, it turns out that they invented characters that were not in the Bible and made them main characters. Then, on top of that, the characters that are in the Bible are not portrayed as they are in the Bible. On top of that, they mess with the timeline and have Old Testament people interacting with New Testament people. The Rings of Power is not only a convoluted mess of a story, it is a desecration of the works it was supposed to be based on. At best, this is just utter incompetence. At worst, this is malfeasance and cultural vandalism. I like Amazon. It is a great company; innovative, responsive to customer’s needs, great deals, best service, etc. So, Amazon, how could you F this up so bad? Why would you spend so much money to piss off customers who otherwise love your company? One last thing. How can people leaving comments here be trolls? You have our credit card numbers. You have our whole purchasing history! Why were you censoring comments? Trying to cover up something is usually worse than the crime. Let your customers leave honest reviews. We are not trolls. We are people with money who want to spend it.
