This mattress is a health hazard
This by far has been my biggest regret in my history of Amazon purchases. It arrived to my new apartment before I actually moved in, so the leasing staff kindly moved it inside the apartment. Upon my arrival, I thought the apartment smelled odd, possibly due to a fresh coat of paint or new counter tops. I roll out this mattress, and my God, the chemical smell filled the entire apartment. Having read the reviews about the potential smell, I aired it on the balcony for the better part of the day till it looked like it was going to rain. I brought it in, it smelled better, but still had the smell. I went to sleep on it with a mattress cover and a fitted sheet hoping to block the smell. I woke up at 5AM with my lungs burning and the smell covering all my pillows and blankets. There was no escaping it. At 5am, I tossed this mattress back out to the balcony (mind you, I'm 5'6 and this Q size mattress towers over me, but I was frustrated enough to be able to toss it), ripped off the cover to it, and have had it airing out since. I've realized the "fresh coat of paint" smell in my apartment was this mattress's scent seeping through the box. No amount of candles or febreeze has masked the odor. I'll give it one more full honest day of airing out in the Miami breeze, and will trash it if no improvement. I'm now worried about my health as the burning feeling in my lungs hasn't subsided. Obviously this company can't be trusted to give consistent quality of products if some people report the smell and others experience none. Buyer beware
