It’s amazing - if there is NO WIND EVER.
What a disaster. Put it up yesterday. And today it is in pieces in the driveway waiting for UPS.
Yesterday I LOVED IT. Today, one small breeze and a piece from the part of the inside of the umbrella popped out. Rendered useless. The worst part? Simply cast aluminum. I’m no rocket scientist or manufacturer but in no way was this capable of handling any wind whatsoever with an umbrella that size without steel. I have seen a lot of people complain about the bases. You definitely need the bigger base but that isn’t even the biggest part of problem at all. Umbrellas get “carried away” so easily in the wind. I almost wonder if any cantilever umbrella can do this job at 10 feet wide.
So we wanted to close the umbrella after it broke. Couldn’t. Impossible. In order to get this off the deck we had to break it to pieces. The worst part? I’m the weakest person on earth (no joke) and I could easily break it apart. Day one? AMAZING. Day two? No way. It needs to be put together with a heavy metal. And perhaps more vents or another way to keep this thing from blowing crazily in the wind.
