In 2011 we switched to Smart Phones. Anticipating the need to be able to charge at multiple locations I bought several of these in both the 3ft and 6ft range. I assumed with the Amazon Branding there would be some additional quality control involved, WRONG. Every one of these cables failed within 18 to 24 months. As others have noted, and someone posted a pic of it, the Micro Side of the cable is cheaply made where it goes into the body. We had several of them pull out, some bent with very little effort and the majority of them failed due to the little friction tabs that are suppose to help keep them in place lost their ability to stand up. At the time we bought them I do not recall if they were designated for 2a power. I can say that none of the cables at that time were able to support 2a charging, and data was extremely slow.
