Not sealed in foil (as would usually be the case)!
Every set of 3M 60926 cartridges I've purchased in the past (from elsewhere) has come sealed in a foil pouch with an expiration date specified on the outside. These did not. These came 'loose' in a flimsy plastic bag... So I don't trust them... My understanding is that foil is way less gas permeable than thin plastic, so usually seals way better. Also, why aren't these in the 'usual' packaging? The attached picture shows a set of cartridges I've purchased elsewhere in the past (on the left) sealed in a foil pouch. (This is how I've received many sets over the years). On the right is what I received from Amazon. They are loose in a thin plastic bag which arrived with a small tear already in the bag. As I understand it, the foil normally protects the cartridges from going bad (since they can otherwise absorb gasses from the environment in storage before you actually get to use them). Since there is a finite amount of gases that can be neutralized/absorbed over it's lifetime, who knows how much (neutralization) life is being lost since it's not sealed. That presumably wouldn't effect the P100 aspect, but these weren't sold as only being P100 filters. They are sold as the full Gas/Vapor/Filter combination. I've been very happy with the 3M 60926 cartridges in the past. I'm just concerned about how these are not in the expected protective packaging... Beware!
