Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I decided to read this book because of the excellent reviews it had received in the local press. Even now some Amazon reviews are 5 star. The main character Joe is supposed to be a renowned psychologist and yet he blunders through this book making bad decision after bad decision. His father is a thief, bigamist, liar and has manged to destroy a number of lives by his surgical ineptitude. The other wife is his father's mistress who also sleeps with other members of this sordid little enclave of people with no morals and no sense of decency. None of the characters in this book are worth caring about. If this is an example of Mr O'Loughlin's work i shall not bother reading anything else of his. I finished the book hoping that something good would come at the end, nothing did.
