I purchased this item for a different use than what it is advertised as-I got it to make a bed for our dogs. We've had a bed for them previously that was egg crate foam and about 4 inches thick so I thought this would be perfect to make a replacement and how could I go wrong for this price? Well, let me tell you, even the price did not make this worth keeping! The picture they use to show the product is completely misrepresentative on what I received. They show it being a typical egg crate foam with short, stubby points. What I got was nothing like that. The points were long and thin, leaving the base foam to be less than an inch thick. And because the points were so tall and thin they gave zero support so as even the slightest pressure is put on them, they give and you're left with less than an inch of foam total. The fact that they called it 4 inch foam is wrong, even counting from the base to the tip of the foam was barely 3.75 inches in parts, mostly it was 3 inches. I added a photo to show what I mean. So even though I bought this for a different use than what it was intended, I returned it because it was not as advertised and even it I was to use it on a mattress, I don't see how adding less than half an inch of foam would be helpful to anyone, especially if you are buying it with the thought you'd be starting with 4 inches of foam before putting pressure on it.
