Original review: This unit failed after less than 3 months. The fan stopped working, and the heater coils get extremely hot and started smoking. I emailed the company a picture of the non-working fan and they replied with an offer to send a replacement part that MIGHT fix the problem, at my expense. They claim that they have a 3-year warranty to cover parts and labor. When I asked them to honor that warranty, they asked for an invoice. I sent them the invoice and haven't heard back. They are ignoring my emails and refuse to honor the warranty. Terrible product and terrible company. The attached photo shows proof that the unit has power and the fan isn't working. UPDATE: The company contacted me again and said the following: "I believe one of our staff may have given you some incorrect information earlier. Let me offer some clarification. The DR-988 and the DR-966 heaters only come with a one year warranty. The three year warranty applies only to a select number of our models. Also, our policy is that we will replace a heater ONLY if that heater has a serious defect or malfunctions within 30 days of purchase. Our 1 or 3 year warranty means that either the part or the service of the heater is free within that time period. If you want the fan motor to replace yourself, we can offer the part for free. There is a $15 Shipping/handling charge (due to the weight of the part). The other option we offer is free service. That means, we can inspect and repair your heater free of charge. We would also send the heater back to you at our cost. However, you are responsible for shipping the heater back to us. Because of the misunderstanding earlier, I can offer you a free prepaid FedEx Shipping Label to send the heater back to us for service. Essentially, the entire process here will be free for you. We will bring the heater back, replace the faulty part(s), and send the heater back to you after we have re-tested the heater for performance."
