Update. New disclaimer says "addresses racism" nope! Just flat out racist. No addressing it. It just is, period. I keep being drawn to it via ads. I fall for the plot that includes a basset hound named Taco but when I check to order it I remember how I felt about it. I am a voracious reader. I dont always remember the authors. First review: Hmmmm. I am going to hang on for a bit but I am really offended by the need to label a "white man" "African American sheriff" when neither descriptor had anything to do with the characters outside of calling out skin color........ I couldn’t. Every character was introduced by the color of their skin: “tiny black woman”, Asian, little white woman. It was so offensive I closed the book and removed it from my IPad. So disappointed. The series looked so promising.
