I purchased the QT-54 from a local store. It has smoked from the breather since new. I sent an email to Quincy asking what I should do and they referred me to their service center in alabama. The tech there said smoke was normal, (it fills my 800 sq ft shop with blue haze), and that at 60 hrs I should change the oil. I changed the oil and it continues to smoke. I was referred to their service center in Dixon CA, 150 miles from Reno. I called and sent emails explaining the situation. I was told a service tech would contact me. After two weeks of waiting I called again. I was told I was working the compressor too hard. It was an economy model and not designed to run a 5 gallon sandblaster or air tools. "It is not designed to run continuously." My old Husky compressor with a 30 gallon tank could run this stuff! Several emails to Quincy are always referred to the service department, but no one responds. I would have been better off buying a Harbor Freight throw away for a third of the money. I usually don't write negative reviews, but this compressor and Quincy service deserves one.
