I ordered this telescope based upon the reviews stating it was easy to set up and use. It is neither! While it is easy to assemble it requires that you align the telescope with celestial objects no matter which of the programmed alignment method used. After two hours of trying on a clear night sky full of stars by the ocean this proved to be impossible. I tried focusing repeatedly until the focus knob would not turn any further then reversed it until it stopped in the other direction, I repeated this over and over again and was never able to see a single star or object in the sky .... just black, no matter where it was pointed to. Technical support is useless, I tried calling technical support the next day, Friday, and after a series of prompts and pre-recorded messages with "easy" do it yourself corrections I was put on hold indefinitely with another pre-recorded message that kept repeating that they were experiencing "higher than normal call volume"..... after over an hour on hold no one ever answered. This telescope is most definitely not for beginners as the instructions for alignment require knowledge of longitude, latitude or celestial objects. This telescope weighs over 40 pounds and is not easily transported. This combined with the extreme difficulty of setting up each and every time you simply want to see the stars make it a very poor choice. If i could give a negative star I would. At over $800.00 it should be easier to use and at minimum the company should be more responsive for technical assistance. Do not buy unless you enjoy being frustrated each time you want to enjoy a star filled night!
