Measured the unit I received at only 6,090 lux at 10", 5,350 lux at 12", after a couple minutes' warmup. Brightness levels are false advertising. I used this lux meter (Leaton Digital Luxmeter / Digital Illuminance Light Meter lux meter with LCD Display(Range: 0.1~200,000 Lux Luxmeter, 0.01~20,000Fc)). Anyone who buys a lamp like this should also buy a meter (can be had for ~$15) to ensure you're getting what you paid for. Furthermore, the stand setup is extremely bulky. The stand does make it easy to position above eye level though, so you can read a book, etc. underneath it.
