Deceptive and ineffective for severe low D
I was diagnosed with chronic seasonal depression and was tested to find a vitamin D level of 6 (normal is between 30-32). I took prescription vitamin D for 6 months until my level was better, then was switched to OTC supplements of 2000 IU 1x daily. I bought these thinking they'd make taking my daily handful of meds and supplements a little less dreary. Following the bottle directions, I took the recommended amount of 2, but I don't believe they contain the 2000 IU they claim to. In fact, my D levels started going down. The bottle being incorrect was not just an inconvenience to me, it set me backwards in my blood chemistry and treatment. I've changed back to my tiny gel-caps and all has been corrected now...just don't let the colorful, sweet treats fool you into thinking this is a good vitamin D replacement for severe cases. They're probably fine for borderline or mild cases.
