I purchased a previous much older version of Amazfitbip (for only $25) and absolutely loved it. It did everything I wanted. It would show my text messages and phone calls, alarms etc. This is primarily all I need in a smart watch. Unfortunately it seems all smart watches now are designed to be "fitness trackers" more than an extension of my phone which is my primary goal here (so I don't have to pull my phone out of my pocket all the time!). Another feature that I found indispensable on my previous Amazfitbip watch the "LEASH" feature. The watch would vibrate and buzz if it was out of range of the watch. This was absolutely the greatest tool on a watch....it tethered my phone! If I walked out of a restaurant having left my phone on the table, the watch would buzz to alert me. If I stepped out of the car without my phone, the watch would alert me. It's the perfect tool for not losing your phone! I'm certain it saved $1000 phone several times! Yet, on this newer version this feature seems to have been abandoned. I don't get it! It's so simple.....just have the watch vibrate if it loses its Bluetooth phone connection! The other feature abandoned in this new version is a readable screen. Yes, they now brag about a "brighter" screen, but this new screen has a MAJOR drawback.....it can't be read in direct sunlight. It's practically unreadable in most sunny situations! I'm not sure what the old screen type was, but it actually got MORE readable in direct sunlight! This feature again is indispensable for me as I spend a lot of time outdoors. But my old ($25) Amazfitbip, after several years of hard use, had come apart so I needed a new one! And the new ones would certainly have all the old features plus much more....right? (and, 3x the price!) So, I ordered the new AmazFitBip U Pro. Boy was I disappointed! I got a bunch of new features that I didn't care about but had lost the two features that I valued most! I am so sad they abandoned the earlier model!!!
