Not Just Suspension of Disbelief
All movies, to a certain degree, require a suspension of disbelief. Obviously Marvel movies there is no belief system that comes into play. But, usually, when movies try to portray potentially real life situations there is some believability that exists to carry the plot forward. Horizon Line was so stupid from so many aspects that to say that this plot had any relation to a real life situation would be unbelievable. The only premise of a potential actual situation, a pilot having a heart attack while flying with no other individual with pilot training on board, would probably lead to horrifying very short result. But here, they drag out what would be an inevitable conclusion to such actions as leaving the rear door of the plane, somehow climbing out to a strut and hanging on while with one hand removing an engine cowling and repairing a fuel leak with duct type in the engine; climbing out of the same door and pouring rum into a wing fuel tank without putting the plane into a spin or being thrown off; flying over a massive thunderstorm, passing out due to lack of oxygen and somehow reviving in time to pull out of a deadly spin (without flight training?); gliding at the same same altitude for literally 10 minutes after the fuel is exhausted; crashing in an ocean while trying to "land' on a sand bar and somehow reviving a person after said person had been under water for an extended period; after the sandbar had disappeared due to the rise of the ocean "tide" and being circled by sharks; and finally being rescued by a fishing boat in the middle of the ocean that just happened to come by. The dialogue was incredibly stupid, the quasi pilot was stupid, her companion was stupid. The only reason I kept watching was to see what the next level of stupidity this film would sink to. I was not disappointed. How this could get made is beyond me. I can only imagine some money laundering scheme or tax evasion. If I could give it zero stars I would.
