Very disappointed
I really wanted to like this mower -- and I did after using it the first time. It just purred and started right up and I was able to get through the back yard only after one recharge. The next time I used it, I got the orange steady light (meaning either the mower or the battery was overheating). I put the wheels at 4 (3 the first time with no issues, mind you), the grass was not wet, I slowed my pace to a crawl, the grass was of medium height (just like it was the first time I had used it), and I could not figure out why anything would be overheating. After raising the wheels to 4, it ran okay the rest of the time. The 3rd (and final) time I used it 3 days ago, the orange light came on after 10 minutes of mowing. Again, the wheels were already at 4, the grass was not wet (or in any way thick), and it was 70 degrees and balmy outside. I called the company and they told me to let it cool, then try again, which I did. It ran just fine, for about 30 minutes - then the steady orange light popped up again. I put the battery back on the charge, let this mower rest for 20 minutes, then tried again -- the orange light came on, two more times! It took me 2.5 hours to do the job that never takes longer than 1 hour. I think the battery concept is a great advancement in lawn mowers, but I don't think they are there yet. You feel as if you are dealing with a very delicate machine that is touchy that will give out on you for no reason. I don't have time to waste on weak lawn mowers, especially with a price tag of almost $500.
