Four second delay renders it unreliable
I researched a great deal before settling on this pedometer. I was not interested in any of the new fitness trackers because truly, all I wanted was something to count my steps throughout the day: Count them as I walk from the kitchen to the dining room, from the kids' room down to the laundry room, etc., and add it all up at the end of the day. Problem is, the thing is programmed not to count the first four seconds of walking. So that walk from the kitchen from the dining room -- maybe 9 steps in 3 seconds? Zero on the pedometer. Going across the room to pick up the baby? Zero on the pedometer. In other words -- spending my day with a few hundred 3-4 second spurts of activity? Zero on the pedometer. If you want a pedometer to track your steps walking at the mall or around your neighborhood, and you don't use a GPS, it might be just fine. But if you want it to actually give you the sum total of your steps as you go about your day, it is not for you.
