This is a very nice pan with a huge design flaw. The handle is much too heavy for the body of the pan. If you set it flat on the counter and just touch the end of the handle the pan will tip, it is a little better with the lid on but a lid is not always needed. When I put it on my cast iron grid cook top is just a matter of time before it tips and makes a mess. I really wanted to like this pan but the fruit compote that just made a big puddle on the stove was the last straw and I'm heading for the shop to cut off some of the handle so the pan can be used. Too bad for an expensive kitchen implement. It's as if the handle that was meant for a larger pot was put on this one. This next part is an edit. After the handle was shortened and smoothed the pan works like a dream. Just wished the people at Cuisinart had tried the pan before offering it.
