As a cat Dad with over thirty-five years of welcoming strays into my home; I looked forward with great anticipation to the SiftEase Litter Box Cleaner. With eight litterboxes, cleaning is a chore that I do not treasure and hoped that this unit would make my litterbox life a little bit easier but sorry to say it does not. While the unit is well-made the execution is the problem. According to the instructions, you lift the litterbox and pour the contents through the sifter into the container. The sifter sits atop the container. Any clumps that remain in the litterbox are to be scraped out into a bag (grocery bag, etc.) for disposal. Here's the rub. Invariably, when pouring the contents into the sifter a remaining clump of moist litter decides to leap from the litterbox into the sifter. The moistened clump breaks apart and goes through the sifter into the now clean litter and what does not wind up in the container of clean litter goes all over the floor. If that were not bad enough, when gently pouring the clean litter back into the litterbox a dust storm erupts that even Lawrence of Arabia could not navigate. So much for that 99.9% dust-free litter. The concept of this unit is good but fails miserably in its execution. It presented more of a hassle than a help. Back to scooping. I cannot recommend this product. Two stars because the unit is well-made.
