Quality Control Really Bad
Let me say that I just bought these particular mole spikes. A year ago I bought eight of a different brand (Lomerey) from Amazon and within a month or so, the mole activity went away. Don't expect it to work overnight. About a month ago, I noticed that I was getting moles again in both the front and back yards, so I checked the mole spikes and found that five out of eight had quit working. That's when I ordered the Toro brand. Same concept, different manufacturer. I immediately liked the Toro better because the underground part is all one molded piece so water cannot get into it. I assume that they will work just as well as the previous ones and hopefully will last longer. I do believe that sonic mole spikes are an effective deterrent as they make the environment unpleasant for the moles to live. Humans can hear them if you listen carefully, but it's subtle enough that it isn't really annoying. UPDATE! After about 18 months only one of the eight is still working. They generally crapped out after 6-9 months. Most seem to have water in them even though they were just subjected to rain and lawn watering. One may have been partially submerged in a puddle. I would say that the quality control and/or design of these is poor. Don’t waste your money. The Lomerey brand (green in picture) is even worse. None of those works. I ordered 16 of a different brand and we will see if I get ripped off by a junk product again.
