I normally don't care enough, even in the event I don't enjoy a product, to write a review. But this particular item made such a negative impression, I made it my personal duty to warn others before buying this product. Like many consumers who enjoy using Amazon.com, I bought this item based upon the positive reviews. I almost never purchase a product under 4 stars, and it's fairly unheard of for 4+ star products to disappoint me. Needless to say, this particular product has changed my opinion on the matter. Quality: The construction is very poorly done. The "pockets" were stitched together unaligned. To be more precise, when the item was filled with shoes, it was slanted to one side, due to how poorly the item was constructed. The lower right corner of the top pocket was stitched about 1.5" too high and caused it to veer to the right, the rest of the way down. Furthermore, the stitching was very flimsy. Material: Although it was advertised to be some sort of mixture between polyester and cotton, it was still subpar in terms of feel and texture. The material felt as though it was recycled polyester. I had purchased the white color variant (but it came a bit tanned). I could tell the product was poorly handled because there were patches of yellowish hues sprinkled about the product's intended white color. The package was sealed completely, although shoddily. Utility: I purchased the narrow version, unaware that the "wide" variant would be necessary. Considering amazon.com was out of stock of the wide variant, I gave it a go. The narrow version holds NOTHING. It can probably accommodate a few flip flops, and a sandal or two, but it couldn't even hold standard sized sneakers (size 9.5). My converses barely fit, and my dress shoes and boots simply didn't. The item was practically useless. The wider version, (8" instead of 5" in width) might've been sufficient for my shoes, but given it's unavailability and increased price, I opted against getting them. Packaging: It was tied together with some cheap velcro, and simply compressed behind some thin paper packaging. Needless to say the product was a dud in all respects. I searched for various alternatives on Amazon.com prior to purchasing this item AND after purchasing this item, since I immediately requested a return on the item. I found a similar product from Bed Bath and Beyond that was VASTLY better in quality and construction. It held all my shoes (sneakers, boots, dress shoes) without any problems. Furthermore, unlike this product, the BB&B version had a sturdier construction for the sides of the "pockets as well", so you could fit several converses in one pocket. I managed to comfortably put 2 pairs in a single pocket. Attached is the link of the product I bought in place of this, and it was on sale for 9.99, with a regular price tag of 14.99. This product comes with a default size of 8" width, which is simply necessary. All in all, I will never purchase from Household Essentials again, due to the poor experience I had with this product.
