Beware! Bulbs don't last long!
First of all, for those who wonder, these work best with projector beam housing! Don't waste your time installing them in reflectors because the beam will most likely scatter everywhere.
I was debating about getting these bulbs for over a month. I spent a lot of time reading the bulb's Amazon reviews and comparing competing bulbs from JDM Astar and Sirius. In the end, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered OPT7 about 1 week ago. The bulbs arrived less than 1 week after ordering.
Initially, one of the bulbs did not work and I thought it was the ballast (driver) that was not working correctly. I thought this because I swapped out the good ballast to test and the both bulbs turned out to be fine. I turned to OPT7 customer support and like several other people said, it is a bit inconvenient of not offering phone support. The only way to contact them is through email. Thankfully, I emailed them before 2pm, which is the cutoff for responses. I received an email about 2 hours later that detailed a troubleshoot and possible solutions. After two emails exchanged, it turned out to be a polarity issue so I just had to flip the wire connections and both bulbs worked! Hooray!
I give these bulbs 4 stars because of how they look/compare to my OEM halogens. The LED color and brightness is better than my halogens, has very similar OEM look to it. I get many complements on the car at night because of the headlights which is a double win in my book! The color is a bright white with hints of blue at 6000k. They look really good to the eye, but would be better if the color was closer to 5000k for usefulness. I have a projector housing in my 2011 Camry so that helps to focus the cutoff beam compared to a reflector housing unit. The photos don't lie, these bulbs are better than stock halogens.
Would be 5 stars if they were a little bit brighter. Recently, I pulled up next to a 2014 Corolla with factory LED lights during the night and compared the beam brightness. The Corolla LEDs were brighter than my OPT7's.
Honestly, I would buy it again in a heart beat. Overall, it is still worth the money and time.
Update 9/4/2015: LED bulbs are going as strong as the first day installed about 4 months ago. No sign of wear and tear from this high quality bulbs. Still get complements everywhere I go.
Update 1/13/2016: Bulbs are still as good as when purchased 8 months ago. They have thrown consistent light with no flicker or fade.
Update: 2/23/17: I am lowering my review to one star because these bulbs have started to fail before even hitting two years. I had to exchange both of the original bulbs because the LEDs failed. Now, the new ones they sent me are failing too...I cant drive with bulbs that aren't reliable.
