CALCIUM CARBONATE MAIN INGREDIENT NOT PAPAYA ENZYMES-MISLEADING-
The whole point of this product, at least to me, is that stomach distress due to indigestion can be remedied by taking natural papaya enzymes. Of course no claims are made etc. But, for me, papaya enzymes alone do aid digestion. I've used another brand which is not currently available so I tried this one out. That other brand is 100% papaya enzymes. Here is the problem: I must restrict the intake of calcium. People take loads of calcium in products like Tums to neutralize stomach acid. However, this natural papaya enzyme product should not contain it or at least not much of it. According to the label the recommended single dose contains 60mg of papaya related materials. In addition to the papaya related ingredients however this product contains 157mg of calcium carbonate per three little tablets which is 12% mdr of that. If you use this product you are taking 2.61 times the calcium carbonate as papaya enzymes. My opinion is that the product is inaccurately promoted. It is sold as a natural remedy for indigestion by means of papaya extracts. Yet, the major ingredient is the same as in a Tums tablet. How can the user separate the effect of the calcium carbonate from the effect of the papaya enzymes? The front label says nothing about calcium carbonate. Bottom line is that I cannot use this due to all the calcium. Many reviews glow with reports of how well this works. Duh. Of course it works. Hidden in the fine print is the fact that the tablets are mostly calcium carbonate NOT papaya enzymes. In fact, the tablets do taste chalky like a Tums. This is just wrong. The two bottles I bought are going into the trash after taking only one dose of this garbage. You want to take calcium carbonate buy Tums. You want papaya enzymes I suggest you look for something in which that is the primary ingredient. You got some of my money but no more. Your label fooled me once.
