3 days after and the mattress is releasing toxic fumes
It has been 3 days now, and the mattress is releasing toxic fumes. Went out of the house for few hours and came back for a nauseating smell all around the apartment. I thought at first that the neighbors were up to something nasty. Opened the windows in this 30F degree weather to vent it all.
Seemed to be fine. Went to sleep and the smell was back. This mattress vents out toxic fumes, and it seems to get worse with each passing hour.
The mattress package was banged up when it arrived, but the mattress seemed to be fine. It expanded to a full size within few hours.
We washed the mattress cover and the pillow covers. After waiting 36 hours we placed the mattress cover back on, new clean sheets and went to sleep.
Forget about the sore back and sleepless night, as they did say it may take up to 30 days to get used to the mattress. But the fumes are makingnit impossible to remain in the room.
"Update 26-Dec-2020*
After giving the mattress another 72 days to vent without sleeping on it (3 day), the fumes are still there. I've went back to review the product description and other reviews and now i am convinced that this either a marketing experiment or an overstock sale of old stock. 18 out of the current 38 5-star reviews are all eone by the free promotional "vine" reviewers. No other star ratings have these "vine" reviews. That is $12,600 in review buying costs (18 times 700). Also, all the negative reviewers are saying the same thing, bad odor/toxic fumes, or mattress not fully expanding. This is either a design flaw, or results of long storage (hence the sale the mattress not by an official Nectar brand - see the "by" brand at the top and it says "unknown") so this could easily be an overstock sale of older stock.
Lastly, I've raised the questions of the fumes on the product pagez and after several days got a canned answer that Nectar brand has no fumes. Contrary to what consumers report.
