Sorry to say this because I so very much wanted this to work. I cooked a pilaf in it and it worked wonderfully, but then I noticed what was absolutely unacceptable to me. The way the stainless steel of the lid latches down onto the ceramic painted metal base causes bits of ceramic paint to scrape up and tiny bits of this paint fall into the food. It does it tiny bits at a time, so it is not like it can be cleaned off with a first use or two, but it will certainly remain a danger of getting bits of that paint in the food even after months of use. I am not eating food with bits of ceramic paint scrapped off and dropped into it. So, this pot is utterly unacceptable to me.
