This unit does NOT automatically restart after a power outage which drains the battery. I was using this UPS to protect my security system NVR and modem during power outages. After a power outage which drains the battery (which is less than 1 hour for this 800VA UPS), the UPS requires a person to physically press the power button on the UPS, in order to restore power to the protected plugs. In other words, after an extended power outage, this unit turns off and stays off, after the line power is restored.
