I am writing this review to comment on some critical area's that should be addressed. I will referencing the scale of consciousness ( Dr. David R Hawkins) Level : 200-1000 (Truth) Level: 0 - 199 (False) ----------------------------------- So I will start off to say that Kabbalah Calibrates in it's original form which is Level 600 ( enlightenment) The Zohar - (Minus the commentary of any scholar or modern day rabbi) Calibrates at level 900 (enlightenment ) Please don't interpret the following comments as an attack. I simply want to guide the reader toward what he is seeking. Introduction: Ever since I had a mystical experience, Kabbalah has always been of interest to me. My mystical experience contained many Jewish, Christian, and eastern symbols that drew me to explore works outside of Christianity. Upon researching mystical states of consciousness, I found many of Kaplans books. I immediately purchased them based off of the mystical allure it presented to me. I can not tell you how many hours I read the book of creation and Kabbalah and meditation . However, after sometime I fell into disillusionment because, I could not get back to the egoless state I was in during the mystical experience. I had a constant craving to become one with God again but no matter how many works I read It never seemed to get me anywhere. So a year went by, and I ended up finding something that actually changed my life. Enter Dr. David R Hawkins Long story short, Dr. Hawkins reached the same high state as I did and I could immediately recognize it because of the similarity in his experience! He has developed a map of consciousness that ranges logarithmically from 0 - 1000. The method in which you can use that map of consciousness involves kinesiology. In it essence, muscles go weak when truth is absent, muscles go strong when truth is present. So it is a helpful tool when it comes to determining the truth of any book or teacher and can save you lifetimes. Now to the critical points The reason I was disillusioned with kapplans works, is it calibrates as false in that it does not support spiritual growth. This book calibrates at 180 (Pride) which means it falls below the level of truth (level 200). Spiritual work really has one goal and that goal is to become saint like ( Unconditional love 540) Or union with God / enlightenment Level 600 - 1000. Here we are presented with methods, numerology, so on and so fourth. Yet nothing that offers spiritual nurturance. To my second point, I firmly believe the original teaching has been lost here is why. At level 600 & up, consciousness has a greater context ( no mind / Pure consciousness) , at level 599 and below has a limited context (postionalities are still present in the mind). Level 600 , the ego is not present and therefore the nature of the God is revealed in its stunning glory. Moses calibrated at level 700 which is enlightenment, and Kabbalah was passed down from him. Here is the crux of the situation. What happens when information from a high level of consciousness is passed down to a consciousness with smaller context? It becomes misinterpreted! This is most likely why Kabbalah has been lost. When a sage at level 700 passes non linear insights to a person who is at level 250 (linear mind) it tends to get lost because the student does not have the same context as the sage! Kabbalah being an oral tradition can be open to so much error especially when it comes from such a high level and goes to a person who does not have the same context as the sage. Conclusion : What I have been seeking is a united state with God. Through trial and error I have come to realize that God is always present, but we are not aware because the ego is a separate reality from God. Spiritual work involves undoing man's animal side (ego) and surrendering to the will of the Father. The state I experienced is always present. The clouds are present but the sun isn't gone. Spiritual work is the undoing / surrendering ones life over to God and letting the clouds be moved away by the wind of our father which allows the full radiance of the sun to shine.
