Tiger Rice Cookers Lithium Battery Is NOT User Replaceable = $40 Cost To Replace In 2-3 Years
My review is for the Tiger JAE-BIOU and JAE-A10U, which were the previous models to this model, but the problem I am describing pertains to the newer Tiger rice cooker models as well. I was very happy with the way the 2 units cooked rice. However, there is one MAJOR drawback to buying a Tiger rice cooker, and that is that the lithium battery that runs the control panel when it is not plugged in is NOT user replaceable. Nowhere in the user manual does it address this, nor in any of Tiger's product information pamphlets. So beware, in 2-3 years when the lithium battery dies, you will have to return the unit to Tiger in Southern CA, at your cost, and also pay for them to hard wire in another lithium battery. I complained to Tiger about this, and they turned a deaf ear to the problem and acted like paying $40 to replace the battery was "no big deal" for an item that cost $120-$150. I told Tiger I was going to write a bad review and the service rep said, "Go Ahead". So here it is. You've now been warned. Let the buyer beware...
