I was happy PS4 was about to get an official media remote that I pre ordered it the moment I saw it on Amazon. I had a feeling I should have waited and read the reviews first... The media remote for the PS3 was not able to pair with my Onkyo sound system so I was glad when this PS4 media remote worked, but for some reason, it only provided partial functionality. It could turn on my receiver but it couldn't turn it off (and yes, I tried everything), I found a work around by programming one of the "soft keys" to the power button, it's not ideal, but it's something I could get used to if it meant using 1 less remote. Another thing to add is that the "volume push" is a total let down. The manual says you can control the volume from a certain device no matter what mode it is in, when in reality, PDP meant to say that the certain device means "TV only". It's a shame becuase volume push only makes sense if it could work for your surround sound system. I figured I could just work around this too by just hitting the AMP button every time I want to change the volume. While, I was willing to look the other way for these 2 minor inconveniences, The last straw was when the remote would not pair with my PS4. Isn't that the whole point of the thing? The PS4 couldn't detect the media remote at all no matter how many times I tried to pair it. I suppose even if I did get it to work, It wouldn't work on some apps anyways according box description and from other reviewers. I'm sending it back, I've waited too long for PS4 to release a media remote and this one is just terrible. Do yourself a favor and keep using your PS4 controller.
