Didn't meet expectations
I thought this mask was pretty hyped up but didn't actually meet expectations. Like all the other reviews said, this mask is extremely basic on the pH scale so the best way to use it is to balance it with apple cider vinegar. I created a large batch and scooped it into my leftover Lush mask containers and put them in the fridge to use at my convenience.
The sensation of the mask on your face is tingling and tightening and like you've been injected with Botox because it's impossible to move your face. I rinsed it off with warm water in a bowl, then flushed it down the toilet, as the mask is clay and I don't want it clogging up my pipes.
The first time, my pores felt really tightened but the few times after that my face would get really irritated and I developed a rash across my cheeks. If you're going to regularly use this product, I would recommend buying some pH strips and testing the pH of your mask to make sure it's the same every time you use it. This mask seems to be sensitive and because you make it yourself, whatever ratio you use can affect how it reacts on your face. It also probably didn't help that I had this mask stored in my refrigerator before uses. The freshly made mask seemed to have the best results. I also made sure not to use any metal products when making/using this mask.
Our skin's natural pH should be around 5.5 so balancing it to that would be most effective. The bentonite clay in this mask is about a 9-10 and Bragg's ACV is about a 3-4 on the pH scale.
Overall, I didn't really notice this mask making any bit of a difference (besides the rash), my pores seemed to be a little bit smaller, that's about it.
