Dual Stream Unusable - Single Stream works great
This product works really well with a single headset paired. However, while two will in fact pair, and appear to work, it is not actually usable. The first thing to note is that the delay is much greater with two paired headphones. My suspicion being the aptx low latency is no longer in use at all. It isn't just a barely noticeable delay, but rather a very distracting lip-sync issue. To be fair I gave this possibility about an 80% chance it would happen with this transmitter when I ordered it, as every other low latency transmitter I found on amazon that supported two connected bluetooth devices, explicitly stated it was NOT low latency once two were connected. I picked this up on the off chance it was the one outlier that actually could do low-latency with two headsets. Unfortunately this is not the worst of it. When two headsets are paired, I am constantly fiddling with it, as it constantly loses audio, sometimes just to unintelligible levels, other times it would drop out completely. I can resync the receiver with a play/pause, but that causes a brief hiccup in both receivers, even if only one was having an issue. I have tried all sorts of tricks to get things to work right, but it just doesn't. Lucky for me, I opted to use a separate receiver unit that regular headphones plug into, instead of dedicated headphones (since I couldn't find any that I like that supported the necessary low-latency codec). This means that I can use a stereo splitter to run both my and my wife's headset from a single receiver. In this mode, it works flawlessly. No drops. No noticeable lip-sync issues, and clear audio. I was really torn with this rating. I can find no fault with it when used with a single headset. I don't think there is anything it could do better in that mode, and would easily give it 5 stars. But the title clearly states "Dual Stream", and it just isn't. Had it just been the loss of the low latency in dual-link mode, I would have been content, since as I said, I honestly expected that based on other similar products. However, dual-stream really should not be even in the listed feature set, as it really cannot be used in such a mode.
