Worst Adaptation of an Agatha Christie Novel
Actually, except for using the names of the characters and a very tiny bit of the story, Sarah Phelps has ruined another Agatha Christie mystery. I, for the life of me, don't understand why the Christie estate has let this happen. By destroying Agatha's creations, her legacy is destroyed. I do understand that TV or Film adaptations cannot cover everything in a book and that every reader and therefore film producer will interpret events differently. Sarah Phelps must feel that she is a better story teller than Agatha Christie and if so, she should write her own stories and adapt them to the screen (she's not of course) - wait that is what she does with her adaptations - she completely changes and destroys all that is glorious about an Agatha Christie mystery. One last comment - how dare you change the brilliant Belgium detectives backstory and his entire nature - that definitely is not yours to do - he was not your creation and you made him unrecognizable. John Malkovich did what he could - but it's hard to act with such a lousy adaptation.
