Cheaply made
Microphone cut in and out. People on other end of call had a difficult time hearing me. The Bluetooth would cut out periodically. Even the wired connection would deliver static if you moved slightly. Poorly constructed. The sound quality was good but that was offset by the other problems. UPDATE: COWIN sent me another pair of E7's to try after reading my review above. I told them since I returned the original E7 I had purchased Sennheiser PXC 550 Headphones and I will compare the two. Here is my very honest, objective review of the new E7 they sent: I did extensive testing. First connecting the E7 with an iPhone 7 and then an Android Galaxy 8 Plus, result: The E7 call quality is still horrible. Everyone (5 different people) I spoke with said I sounded “fuzzy.” Then I had my wife use the headsets and call me...I too heard how poor the call quality was with her using both the iPhone and Galaxy. Then I changed to the Sennheiser PXC 550 to confirm the call quality was due to the E7 and not the phones; the call quality with the PXC 550 was crystal clear and I could be heard very clearly and distinctly using both the iPhone 7 and Android Galaxy 8 Plus by the same 5 people I called with the E7. Finally, I had my wife use the PXC 550 headphones and call me; I too heard that the call quality was MUCH BETTER by a significant factor as compared with the E7. Regarding listening to music: The E7 was “fair”. The sound was “tinny”; not rich or full. I tested the E7 with music on an iPhone 7, Galaxy 8 Plus, iPAD and a MacBook Air. I replaced the E7 with the PXC 550 and the sound was deep, rich and very full. The difference was night and day. Lastly, I tested the E7 with movies on a MAC and iPad…once again the sound was “tinny”. I didn’t have the scratching sounds like I did with the original pair of E7s but still the sound was not rich. This time the E7 Bluetooth did not disconnect like the original pair. Bottom line: The E7 are useless for phone calls and marginal for music and movies. I would not recommend the E7s.
