If I Were You, I'd Pass
I don't like to leave negative reviews, but this was money in the trash. Long ago I picked-up a rice cooker at like . . . a Walgreens for $20 and it was great. I lost track of it after a few moves, and really missed the ease of cooking rice with a cooker. I saw this and thought wow! This item claims to cook all of these different types of rice, and maybe it just tries to do "too much." It requires constant detachment and cleaning; it traps "rice water" in this side container that needs to be pried-off. Then you have to frustrate yourself re-attaching it. The device leaks on the counter, so keep a thick kitchen towel underneath it. It also has a second piece inside its lid that must be detached and cleaned regularly or you can expect quite an odor. The directions are minimal, poorly written and wrong. I found the white and brown rice to be overcooked, but that may be the least of its issues. It's also very slow in cooking. My husband who does most of the kitchen cleaning would beg me not to use it. I gave up, and my aunt sent me a new rice cooker from Bed Bath and Beyond (Professional Series?) that is like that simple one I earlier described: easy, easy to clean, fast and it does a good job with very few parts to clean. We were so frustrated with this thing we didn't even want to give it to anyone, so we just threw it away : (
