Product says not to clean your filter for two weeks but you have to ask "why?" If the product is continuing to work for 6 months...what would "not cleaning your filter for the first two weeks have to do with anything?" The reason is the product appears to completely leak out within the first 24 to 48 hours. Entire area around the basket is florescent blue. When you clean your filter for the first time after two weeks...much of this blue chemical is cleaned out of the filter. After that...the effectiveness of the product goes down extremely fast. Within 30 days I begin to get Algea again...and to be honest...I have lived in this house with this pool for about 6 years and never seen black algea before. Now I have it everywhere. Had to hire a pool guy to jump in the pool and scrub the bottom of it. Might have nothing to do with this product...but might. I know this product has great reviews for the most part but strange it doesn't work for about 10% of the people, including me. I think this might be due to the summer heat down here in Florida where chemicals burn off super fast in the summer. Up North perhaps this product works much better....but down here in Florida the Chemicals needed for a pool greatly decrease in the winter and perhaps this product is great for those times but just didn't work in the dead of summer for me. A shame because I wanted it too. Might be more for those who live in cooler climate year around.
