After researching basement dehumidifiers, I bought an Alorair Sentinel HD 55. It arrived in good condition. I installed it in the basement as per instructions, leveling it carefully and installing drain tube at a grade. It worked well for two weeks, then QUIT!!! It just stopped. No lights are illuminated on the control panel. When I unplug it, wait a minute, replug, I hear one beep, and nothing happens. it is DEAD! I looked in the manual for the warranty registration, it says "go to alorair.com to fill out the warranty". Unfortunately, this site is in Chinese and Google can't translate it. I called the phone number on the operations manual, and got a call back. I was sent a link to a different site to register, and this is simply an "error" site, also in Chinese. I asked Iris what to do about the dehumidifier, and was told I would hear back very shortly after Iris called the engineers for help. I have not heard back from Iris. I have a dead $950 dehumidifier. I would NOT buy this machine unless you speak Chinese and can register in that language. It is entirely unclear if Alorair will stand behind their product that catastrophically failed after two weeks of use.
