★★☆☆☆
Possible bacteria buildup. Recommended only with modification.
I have had this breathing device for 2 days. I think it will work very well and help me strengthen my lungs.
My concern is that the silicon mouthpiece is attached to the body of this device with a cable tie. There is STILL MOISTURE between the mouthpiece and the body, even after letting it dry overnight. That would be a wonderful place for bacteria to grow. If bacteria does grow there, you could be inhaling something that could make you very sick.
Simple fix: I cut off the cable tie. I can now remove the mouthpiece and let it and the body of the device fully dry. The mouthpiece can then easily be placed back on the body of the device, and it will (in my non-expert opinion) be safer.
Yes, I worked scrupulously to clean this after every use these first 2 days. There was still liquid between the mouthpiece and the body. Once I cut off the cable tie, I could separate the parts, wash them, and let them dry naturally.
There is still plenty of "friction" when putting the mouthpiece back on the body of the device, so it will not come apart during use.
