This is my second Farberware 2-4 cup percolator. I bought my first one 3 years ago and LOVED IT!!! Unfortunately, I forgot to put water in it recently and plugged it in, and that was the end of that. I simply had to have another, and was I ever thrilled that Amazon still sold the same percolator!! I couldn't wait to get it! When it arrived, I immediately noticed the stainless steel was lighter in weight than my first percolator. Not just the pot, but the parts inside that make it work, too! The lid did not fit tightly (in fact, it popped off twice while perking a pot of coffee!!), and the measurements on the carafe were slightly lower than those on my first percolator. And for some strange reason, I have to use more coffee to make the same strength that the other percolator brewed. Again, this is the same brand and model as my first percolator! Sometime during the last three years, Farberware lowered its standards and came up with a cheaply made percolator. I will try to contact Farberware to see if anyone there can find me an older pot like my other one, because this one is a piece of junk!
