The concept is great, the engineering not so much
The concept is great, the engineering not so much. Box is not deep enough to hold litter at least 3 inches deep, so cat urine soaks down through the litter and sticks on the bottom of the box. The plastic rake tines that are supposed to scoop are both too far apart and too weak to really scrape off the sticky clay/urine combo, and so the rake scrapes through it leaving some stuck on the bottom of the box and some raked in to the waste receptacle. Sometimes the rake just breaks apart the clumps when it meets resistance from clay stuck to the bottom, and nothing gets scooped in to the waste area! Box itself is a little too short, thus you get cat waste of both types at the very end, sometimes stuck in the rake, and heaven help you if your cats do anything on the rake, because then the rake scoops out what is in front and then returns and smashes the clay clumps or other waste between the back of the rake and the end of the box. The rake is set at the wrong angles as well and so sometimes the clumps go in the waste area and sometimes they just fall right back in to the box. The motor on the rake is also too weak to scoop anything if you fill it to the "MAX" litter line, which is less than two inches deep. Bottom line, 1) Use stainless steel rake tines. 2) Narrow the distance between rake tines. 3) Change the angle of the scoop to actually scoop and not "sweep". 4) Deepen the litter capability 5)Elongate the litter box area by about 3 inches 6) Increase motor strength. That would be worth it and I would pay more to have that.
