Do better -- buy "turtle safe" amber lights, or yellow/orange filter plastic film, or both
It's "low" blue but just barely -- it's actually high in the red and yellow end to make the "color temperature" look very warm. But with a spectrometer you can see that half the intensity is still right in the blue-green 400-500nm range that you're trying to avoid. It'll probably work well enough for some people, but if you're a baby, or getting older, and your sleep is already broken up a bit, you can do much better. If you care about this stuff the little $40 kit spectrometer from spectralworkbench is worth getting. This is the spectrum for this GE Align bulb: spectralworkbench dot org slash spectrums slash show2 slash 69382 The blue line is the blue part of the spectrum, you can see it's up around the 50 percent line (that's somewhat arbitrary). Fluorescents (including white LEDs, which technically are fluorescent sources) have a phosphor that "fluoresces" --glows -- when excited by higher energy photons. They all have an internal blue light in them -- and run it through a phosphor layer that glows in something closer to white (or multiple colors that sum up to what we see as white). But the blue always leaks through. Amber LEDs are true amber light, that's all they emit. That's what you want here, mostly. Get an amber "turtle safe" LED lamp (or 12-volt marker lights from the auto store, which use amber LEDs nowadays). Or buy a few sheets of Rosco theatrical/photo color gel in an amber or orange or canary yellow (Rosco's site shows the spectrum transmitted).
