I purchased this backpack as a computer bag. When i pulled it out of the package, the stitching on the front pocket was incomplete, the stitching was falling out of the shoulder strap, and one of the zippers was starting to fall off. The material feels weak and thin, but it does seem to be pretty hydrophobic. For a five dollar backpack it is excellent, unfortunately it cost seven times that.
